Our Work
The EGP works to ensure every African benefits from our continent’s natural resources, enjoys affordable energy, and lives in a protected environment.
As a pan-African network of experts and advocates, we bridge the gap between complex energy policies and the real-life needs of citizens to catalyze a transition that is fair, transparent, and puts people first.
Our Approach to Change
How we bridge the gap between global energy goals and local African realities.

Empowering Citizens to Lead
We believe energy decisions are better when the public is involved. We provide citizens and local communities with the information and tools they need to effectively participate in and influence the decisions that shape their lives and livelihoods.

Advocating for Just and Transparent Rules
We work to ensure that energy laws are not just technical documents, but fair "blueprints" that protect human rights. We push for policies that are transparent, responsive to the needs of everyday people, and ensure that natural resources benefit everyone.

Sustaining a Strong, African-Led Voice
We are building a robust and sustainable organization that serves as a reliable watchdog for the continent. By strengthening our network, we ensure a consistent, professional, and powerful voice for energy governance that is truly led by African experiences and needs.
Focus Areas
We apply this approach across four strategic areas.

We advocate for transparent, just, and socially responsive energy policies and laws. By influencing decision-making, we ensure that Kenya’s energy sector is governed with accountability and fairness.
Civic Engagement
We strengthen the voice of citizens and civil society in energy governance. Through advocacy, dialogue, and capacity building, we help communities shape the future of energy.
Social Inclusion
We work to address gender inequalities and ensure that marginalized groups are not left behind. Our focus is on creating an energy future that is people-centered and equitable.
